getting ideas
online browsing seems to be the most popular way of finding ideas for this new house, but it's difficult to find a way to keep track of the pictures you like- you can't just tear them out. so, here's what i'm finding.... (most of the paint pics came from dominomag.com)
i like both this mocha brown color and the way they put a pretend border at the top of a much bolder color. i could see this in our living room with a shade of burnt orange, to draw eyes away from our hideous carpet :)
I really like this color combo of blue, green and chocolate. i'm slightly scared that chocolate will be "so 2007" in the near future, but i love it. we already have a light lime green bedspread, so I'm wondering how we might configure this for our bedroom. I'd hate to have an all brown room, so we might have to go with the blue... but that leaves the bedspread looking a bit odd. maybe light lime green? but how to mix in that chocolate...
i don't know what color to call the one on the far right- teal? aqua? but that's what i image the baby's room to be, with the ikea set that's full of red, pink, orange, yellow and blue. i think the pink and yellow addition won't be too much for a boy's room but it won't be too bold for the girl. here's the curtain:
gray seems to be all the rage. i love it with this blue... but it's a little close to the tealy color for the baby's room. i like the jade-like color on that lamp, though. what about accents of yellow? this could be good for the guest room/office.
